The combination of the Lightpad M and Loop Block creates a highly portable beat-making machine with touch-expression. You can produce tracks on the move and experiment with sounds from drums to synths and atmospheric pads.

The touch-responsive surface is ideal for both live performance and production, providing numerous ways to interact with your sound. The in-depth expressiveness allows you to control scales, effects, sounds and more with various gestures. You can also expand the Beatmaker Kit with the various ROLI blocks that are available.

225 Microkeywaves & Redesigned Surface Layer

The ROLI Lightpad M builds on the success of its predecessor, with a range of improvements and upgrades. One of the most prominent changes made to the design is the microkeywaves. Inspired by the Roli Seaboard, the microkeywaves deliver exceptional tactile control and feedback, from the pressure-sensitive surface. The redesigned silicone surface layer is deeper and softer, with 225 microkeywaves in total for optimal expressive control. The surface has also been made brighter for low-light environments, as well as looking sleek and stylish.

Create Loops and Melodies With Ease

The ROLI Loop Block is the ideal tool for adding looping and recording functionality to the ROLI Lightpad Block. The ROLI Loop Block provides you with a range of controls that make recording and playing back sounds and sequences easier than ever. It features 8 controls in total with a dual-button navigation control for toggling between parameters. The most unique parameter is the ‘Learn Mode’ button which provides you with a visual tutorial on how to interact with each different sound.

The ROLI Loop Block features a range of versatile controls including: Mode. Volume, Click, Snap, Undo, Play, Record & Learn. This diverse range of controls allows you to do everything from set the tempo of your loops to quantizing your recorded loops to ensure they are snapped to the correct tempo. The click function even allows you to set the tempo of your loops manually like a metronome. If you ever make a mistake while recording your loops (even after playback) you can press the Undo button to go revert to the original configuration and start fresh.

The ROLI Beatmaker Kit also includes a FREE 6-month subscription to Melodics. Melodics provides interactive online music lessons, allowing you to build up your skills. It features lessons especially for the Lightpad Block and Loop Block. There are over 30 courses and 400 lessons to explore.

Strobe2, Cypher2, Equator Player, Ableton Live Lite and More Also included with the Beatmaker Kit are a wide range of sounds and software to get you started straight out of the box. Ableton Live Lite is included, providing an in-depth digital audio workstation which you can use to record, edit, arrange and mix music.

Other programs include: Strobe2 Player (a desktop sound player version of the Strobe2 polysynth), Cypher2 Player (a desktop sound player version of the premium Cypher2 software synth), Noise for iOS (a free app for creating music and various sounds) and Equator Player providing 200+ sounds via a desktop sound player.

There is also a dedicated app called Roli Play which is a companion app that teaches how to use the Lightpad’s surface and start making songs. Tracktion Waveform 8 and Max MSP (3-month trial) are included also.
