The DR-HS5 from Roland is a dynamic head-worn microphone with an XLR output. It's been optimized to get the most out of the VC-2 Vocal Designer vocal modeling card (for the Roland V-Synth, V-Synth XT and VariOS modules). The DR-HS5 helps the VC-2 decipher the complex variable-formant characteristics of the human voice.
Since the DR-HS5 is head-worn, the performer's hands are free to play their instrument. Having the microphone right beside the performer's mouth helps to cut down on feedback in live sound situations.
