The LS-P2 packs the advanced technology of the flagship LS series into a portable size. The LS-Pocket is the first recorder equipped with Bluetooth technology, using capable speakers or headphones, you can wirelessly play back recorded audio. The LS-Pocket makes high-resolution audio recording possible. Not only can you record musical performances both instrumental and choral, the compact size offers convenience and portability.

High-quality recording

The LS-P2 features a three microphone system that includes both directional and omnidirectional microphones to faithfully capture the depth and fullness of the sounds recorded. The stereo microphones are arranged at a 90° angle to produce a natural stereo experience, with an added central microphone to capture lower bass frequencies and deliver premium sound. This Tresmic combination provides a wide frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz when the center microphone is on, and 60 Hz to 20 kHz when off.

To get the most out of specifications like frequency response and directional characteristics, design was focused on the microphone casing size and shape. The 90° outward-facing microphone units on the left and right achieve a stereo sound with a natural effect.

96 kHz / 24 bit, linear PCM recording quality

The LS-P2 supports linear PCM recording up to 24 bits and sampling frequencies as high as 96 kHz – far surpassing the 16 bits of CD-quality audio. By selecting this bit rate and sampling frequency, users can make CDs of their own recordings. Manual recording level settings

The Manual Recording Level setting lets you fine-tune the recording level to match the volume of your sound source, maximizing the dynamic range for high quality audio recording. This is a particularly important function when recording music. The Limiter function is effective for keeping volume below a specific point when using the Manual setting. By checking the recording level meter on the LCD display and PEAK display indicator, you can fine-tune your recording level settings.

Convenient recording functions Zoom microphone for recording from a distance

Using the latest technologies, zoom microphone unleashes the power of proximity in noisy environments or when recording from a distant position. The zoom microphone allows you to expand and contract the microphone range by adjusting the direction with the "+" and "-" buttons on the recorder.

Intelligent Auto Mode - Does the adjusting for you

The Intelligent Auto Mode function automatically adjusts the microphone sensitivity according to the input level. This function makes it easy for users by automatically adjusting the microphone sensitivity according to the volume of the speaker. Let Intelligent Auto Mode keep your recordings consistent, by not having speakers too quiet or too loud.

High Quality Sound Playback Normalization function – maximizes volume for easier listening

The LS-P2’s Normalization function raises the volume of recorded data to its highest limit without causing distortion. So, even when the recording level is low, it can still be raised to a decent level. Sometimes, when raising the recording level to capture quiet sounds, the resulting audio may become distorted, or when making adjustments to avoid this distortion, the recording may be too quiet. With the Normalization function, the volume is maximized while maintaining quality recording data during playback.

Equalizer for enhanced music playback

Simply transfer your music files to the Music folder to use the voice recorder as a music player. The LS-P2 includes an Equalizer function with presets for popular music genres. Users can select from ‘Rock’, ‘Pop’ or ‘Jazz’, for ideal playback characteristics. To create custom settings, the ‘User’ option allows you to manually adjust frequencies and sound pressure levels.

Playback functions for business situations

Create meeting minutes efficiently with Voice Playback The Voice Playback function allows you to skip non-voice parts during playback, and only play the parts of the file where there is vocal content. Voice Playback saves time and improves efficiency during transcription.

Voice Balancer delivers audio that is easier to hear

The Voice Balancer function works during playback, the volume of recorded voices are adjusted to make dialogue easier to hear. This feature works great in combination with the Intelligent Auto Mode which is used to ensure recording quality. When voices are at different volume levels due to the distance and physical relationship to the recorder, the Voice Balancer automatically makes smaller voices louder, and ensures that louder voices stay below a given level, providing playback where everyone is audible. This comes in handy when recording sound sources from many positions, such as in a large meeting or conference. The voice filter function operates simultaneously, and reduces the prominent noise produced when amplifying small sounds. By eliminating the lower and higher frequencies during playback, recorded voice is further enhanced.

Noise Cancellation - for clear playback quality

The noise cancellation function powerfully reduces unwanted ambient sounds such as air conditioner noise or projector fan noise to enable clear playback quality. This function is effective during playback.
