EZkeys Electric Grand from Toontrack is a virtual instrument plug-in that features samples of the Yamaha CP-80 electric grand piano. The plug-in combines a palette of functions designed to aid in songwriting and music production that includes a chord selector, an extensive MIDI library and more. The software is compatible with Mac and Windows and must be used within your Audio Unit, VST or RTAS host application.
The featured Yamaha CP-80 electric grand piano has been meticulously sampled at Studio 9 in Sweden while being played through a Music Man amp and a custom-built speaker cabinet using Avalon U5, Dimension D, SELA T25, Coles 4038, Telefunken U47 and Neumann SM69 microphones. Designed for an accurate dynamic response, EZkeys Electric Grand provides a realistic feel akin to its real-life vintage counterpart. Also, the selection of presets are designed to be mix-ready without extensive tweaking.
To aid in songwriting, the package comes with an extensive MIDI library performed by a professional session pianist. It features passages covering many genres including rock, pop, country, gospel, blues and funk. The MIDI passages can be dragged and dropped into EZkeys for playback, transposition and further manipulation. Also, the EZkeys Chord Wheel selector allows you to customize chord voicings and add harmonic color with the click of a mouse.
