CONTROL PANEL LAYOUT The DDJ-RZ

control panel layout is designed to mirror that of the software design in rekordbox DJ, giving users who are familiar with the software an instantly recognisable set-up. However, even if you're unfamiliar with rekordbox DJ, the DDJ-RZ is very easy to navigate, and you'll be putting together elaborate mixes in no time. Looking down at the controller surface, you'll find the four-channel mixer sandwiched between each jog wheel and effects interface. The large aluminium jog wheels are optimised to ensure the subtle nuances of your scratch technique is translated with the utmost accuracy. To create an easy to read performance aid, there are illuminated cue point markers, and an accurate countdown for maximum scratch and reverse precision. Beneath each jog wheel you'll find 16 large, back-lit rubber Performance Pads, giving you the ability to instantly trigger quantized Hot Cues, Slicer and Pad FX.

The Magvel magnetic fader responds smoothly, with two metal shafts that support the fader knobs, whilst the contact-free magnetic system is built with endurance and resilience at the fore. You can rest assured that even in the most demanding of environments, you can rely completely on the DDJ-RZ. The 4-channel controller layout gives you total mastery of all four of rekordbox DJ's decks, with each channel owning independent level meters and trim pots for dynamic control. You can also use the DDJ-RZ as a stand-alone mixer if you wish.

FX CONTROL

The DDJ-RZ is equipped with four preset Sound Color FX buttons - Space, Jet, Pitch and Filter. Pad FX gives you complete creative expression by allowing you to create multiple FX chains using all 16 pads. Not only that, but the Sequencer mode allows you to record, play and loop sample sequences on the fly. Advanced features include being able to trigger up to three of rekordbox DJ's quantized Beat FX, with the ability to twist the dial to manipulate the parameters of each. Not only that, but for ultimate creative control, you can even release complex FX patterns with a vinyl brake, echo or back spin!

The new oscillator sampler allows you to overlay four pre-set sounds - Horn, Noise, Sine, Siren - and then modulate the output using the controller dial. The sampler also allows you to trigger and manipulate user created samples that are loaded to the banks in rekordbox DJ.

CONNECTIVITY

The DDJ-RZ offers six inputs, which enables you to connect CDJs or analogue turntables. The booth and dual master outputs enable connections directly to professional PA equipment for those taking their performances to parties and clubs. Pioneer has improved both mic inputs to eliminate distortion, allowing you and your MC to be heard loud and clear without the interference. Dual USB ports (equipped with an A/B-switch), enable you to connect two computers at the same time.
