The front panel features 4 Octane preamps - two XLR and two combo Jack/XLR connections for recording vocals and instruments with 60dB gain on each channel. Each input on the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra provides +48v phantom power for powering studio condenser microphones for professional studio recordings.
Two 6.3mm headphone jack outputs with volume control make the Fast Track Ultra very flexible when it comes to monitoring.
An additional 4 stereo inputs on TRS jack can be located on the back the Fast Track Ultra, with a pair for inserts so external hardware effect units can be connected to the chain.
You will also find 6 analog TRS outputs on the back of the Fast Track Ultra, plus S/PDIF out for a total of 8 simultaneous outputs from the computer. MIDI i/o completes the rear panel making the Fast Track Ultra a great little audio interface for a mobile recording rig.
One of the advantages of using the Fast Track Ultra is that you get a huge amount of i/o with great quality microphone preamps which combined with the software control panel giving you access to MX Core DSP Technology.
One of the advantages to MX core DSP is that you can apply effects to the monitoring section without suffering from latency as you would using a software plug-in. The other advantage to the MX Core DSP is that Fast Track Ultra doesn’t add any extra stain your computers CPU level.
The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra is compatible with all major DAW software and supplied with Ableton Live Lite DAW and inTone Express Virtual effects software.
