The Focusrite's Saffire 6 USB makes pro-quality recording possible from your desktop and your laptop at home and just about anywhere! These days, the only things that keep us from being able to take a premium recording setup to the source (instead of the other way around) are the size of the rig and the recording options it offers. Focusrite takes care of both of these issues with the Saffire 6 USB! This little beauty gives you two channels of input (complete with a pair of premium preamps, naturally), four channels of output, and an absolutely amazing array of plug-ins, production software, loops, and samples. Get ready to look at the "studio" in a whole new way, thanks to the Saffire 6 USB.
Starting on the front, the left side features 2 Neutrik combo inputs for connecting 6.3mm jack leads for instruments, and XLR for microphones with the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB mic pres sounding phenomenal in comparison to other interfaces in its price range.
Moving to the right, gain knobs control the input signal with the option to select the instrument input and a 10dB pad for both channels. Of course with all the Focusrite interfaces the Saffire 6 USB features +48v phantom power on both channels with an overload and signal L.E.D indicator.
The mixer section controls the input signal versus the output to achieve the perfect mix when recording or mixing. The monitor knob controls the overall master volume of the output signal while the headphone knob controls the level of the headphones. Here outputs 1/2 or 3/4 can be selected independently, perfect for setting up headphone cue mixes for DJing.
On the back the Saffire 6 USB connects via USB 1.1 with MIDI in and MIDI out available for connecting external MIDI devices such as keyboards and sound modules. On the right hand side are the line outputs, 4 on rca (phono) and 2 on TRS Jack.
Schools and education institutions can take advantage of the Kensington Lock so the Saffire 6 can be locked down at all times.
Ableton Live Lite 8 is supplied as level entry DAW with a copy of Novation Bass station and Focusrite FX plug-in Suite.
