Defining What a Strings Library Should Be
Eastwest Hollywood Strings is one of many 'Hollywood' products in the Eastwest range, and offers superior quality and usability when it comes to composing. In fact, people would be hard pressed to believe a composition using the Hollywood range came from a computer.
This is down to the people behind the product. Hollywood strings was created by Multi award winning sound engineer Shawn Murphy, who has recorded and mixed scores for Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter to name a few; Nick Phoenix, a master composer and mixer responsible for a whole number of Eastwest products, and Thomas Bergersen, professional orchastrator. With these great minds behind the product, the best is guaranteed.
The GOLD Edition
This version of Hollywood Strings is the GOLD edition, an affordable library still packed with over 100GB of samples with all the features needed for a fantastic composition.
It offers one microphone position, and all articulations except the bow change legato.

- Multiple finger positions for all sections including open strings
- 3 unique styles of legato interval sampling, including slurred legato, and portamento sliding legato, sampled at 3, 3 and 2 dynamics respectively, all with speed control. That's 8 passes of legato intervals, all sampled in long format so each note has time to breathe. Basses only have slurred legato.
