The Antelope Audio Orion Studio Rev. 2017 is a powerful audio interface for both Thunderbolt and USB enabled devices. This 2017 revision of the renowned Orion Studio interface features a range of improvements including brand new AD converters, raising the interfaces dynamic range to the industry best at 124dB. The 24-bit/192kHz AD converters deliver superior low latency performance and exceptional audio fidelity when it comes to recording. The high-resolution audio will capture every nuance of your source material, retaining its natural harmonics.

Now Included – Premium-Grade Mic Emulations

This interface now comes complete with a range of high-grade microphone emulations. Antelope Audio have incorporated some of the best mic emulations from their Verge and Edge modelling microphones. The emulations are designed to make your recordings sound like they were recorded on certain mics. For example, using the Berlin 47 FT emulation, you can achieve the authentic sound of one of the most popular microphones in history. The emulations range from classic vintage microphones, to modern-day mics.

12 Class-A Microphone Preamps

12 Class-A microphone preamps are now included in this revised version of the Orion Studio. The Class-A microphone preamps are designed to deliver crystal clear recordings every time. The combination XLR inputs can record mic, line and Hi-Z compatible equipment, ideal for both instruments and microphones. Each channel features built-in Phantom Power for used with condenser microphones, ideal for studio-grade recordings. The microphone preamps are designed specifically for the Orion Studio Rev. 2017 to deliver stellar audio quality every time.

Thunderbolt & USB Connectivity

The Orion Studio 2017 edition features 32 channels of audio via Thunderbolt and 24 via USB connectivity. The superior ultra-low latency performance and custom FPGA allows you to create and stream multiple complex mixes and process audio with ease. Its huge parallel processing capabilities far surpass DSP chips used in similar interfaces. The smart algorithms, oversampling custom tweaked models, the FPGA provides the lowest latency performance possible, giving you the ability to create up to four intendent, zero latency mixes at once. Antelope Audio have also made a Windows Thunderbolt™ driver available. This allows you to tap in to the high-speed, highly stable connectivity.

Real-Time Hardware-Based FX

In addition to the ultra-low latency, the custom FPGA is also used for processing real-time vintage FX. The Orion Studio is jam-packed with premium-grade effects ranging from vintage-style compression models to modern-day EQ models and more. The new 2017 version now features 4 new compressor models, as well as the ability to open up to 32 compressors at once. The Antleope Audio FX can be used for real-time tracking, monitoring and more. It can also be easily routed to your DAW, allowing you to mix directly in software using the interface. The premium-grade FX range from guitar amp and cab simulation to compressors, EQs and more.

Expansive Control

Orion Studio 2017 Rev. 2017 boasts an exciting new approach to control, with the new Full Session Saving function. This allows you to quick save and even share routing, monitoring and FX settings for quick and easy recall. This is designed to improve workflow drastically, allowing you to easily exchange the data between studio facilities with Antelope Audio gear. The recently added Alternative Matrix View offers a detailed alternative to classic Antelope drag and drop Routing. An intuitive iOS / Android mobile app further expand your control by granting full mic Pres control from a smartphone or tablet.

Design & Connectivity

The sleek and robust design of the Antelope Audio features a brand-new Carbon Grey front-panel faceplate. Its highly robust design is rack-mountable, requiring only 1U of rack space. Two pairs of monitoring outputs, 16 analog outs, 2 preamp outputs, 16 channels I/O via ADAT and 2 channels I/O on S/PDIF, give you all the connectivity you need to link the interface to any other equipment.
