The Traktor 2.6.1 Update is out now via the Native Instruments Service Center. This update is free to all Traktor Pro 2 users and lets you seamlessly sync meta data for your tracks from Traktor DJ to Traktor Pro and back including all BPM, beat grid and cue point information. What’s more, this update also introduces Traktor DJ’s key and downbeat detection for smooth harmonic mixing and formidable beat gridding.

Arturia Software UpdatesArturia New Software Updates: The new 1.5.2 version of Analog Laboratory is available for download, so are Wurlitzer V 1.0.3, Oberheim SEM V 1.1.3, and Jupiter 8-V 2.5.3. Besides the 64-bit compatibility, they now also feature improved compatibility with ProTools (Windows), better scene/preset browsing, and many other fixes making the overall playing experience more pleasing. Audio synthesis in a nutshell is the algorithm or technique in which a hardware or software synthesizer is programmed to generate, or regenerate signal.

Synthesizers use a number of different technologies or programmed algorithms to generate signal, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. There are many types of digital and analog synthesis techniques, including some meant specifically to model very specific sounds like plucked string instruments for example. Below I will explain the synthesis techniques used in SONiVOX products and define the more common types of audio synthesis.
